Tall mane, he walks with his head bowed slightly like he wants to be invisible and his height is preventing that. He’s shy — holding his hat in his hands in front of him and nervously messing with it.

Short hair, but not buzzed. Nicely trimmed. Maybe a goatee?

Hula hoop. He could hula hoop and there’s a big ol’ grin on this face while he’s doing it. He’s doing it for a group of girls — his sister and her friends? They’re loving it and cheering him on.

He wanted to be a tap dancer, but he’s too tall — all arms and legs and too tall for a partner.

At one point he had long hair and wore it in a ponytail.

He tried surf lessons once and he hated it.

Keychain — some sort of ball, like a globe.

Red Car

Roadside covered in yellow flowers.

Ticket stubs.

Saturday morning cartoons with his sister.

Ben or Benjamin, maybe?

He was “too slow”.

“I can’t imagine how you are feeling now. It’s a lot — I know. I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. But please know that everything I did had a purpose — a real reason. Maybe you can find your way to forgiving me and you will start to see the love and good memories again. That’s my hope for you — forget the end and focus on the good times… the happy memories. In what will eventually seem like the blink of an eye, you will understand everything. I love you. With all of my heart. I hope you know that. I hope you can feel my love now. Right now. While you are reading this. Feel it like a big warm hug on a cold afternoon. Like a hot chocolate on a snowy day. I love you.”

Sign: buttered toast.
